Controversy Study Preparation. Due by Day 7. For this week’s assignment, you will create a detailed outline for your Controversy Study to submit for instructor feedback. For your controversy study in Week Five, you will choose a scientific, medical, or technological controversy where there are two (or more) positions that have been staked out by competing groups or people. You will analyze the controversy using the concepts that have been covered in class or introduced in the readings thus far in class.
There are two parts to this assignment: a) Understanding Scientific Controversies and b) Controversy Study Outline.
Part 1: Understanding Scientific & Technological Controversies
Prepare: To prepare for your controversy study, you will read the introduction, conclusion, and one of the case studies in The Golem: What You Should Know About Technology. This book can be found in the Ashford University Library. You will then discuss in one page the implications of the scientific controversy on society. Although this book deals solely with scientific controversies, you can choose either a scientific, medical, or technological controversy for your Final Paper. This part of the assignment is designed to help you better understand the nature of controversy studies.
Read: The Golem: What You Should Know About Technology. This book deals with scientific controversies, where each chapter deals with a different type of controversy and you may find it useful to browse through the chapters and see which one appeals to you.

Part 2: Controversy Study Outline
For Part 2 of this assignment, you will give a brief synopsis of your Controversy Study and a bibliography in at least two pages. Complete the following steps:
o Description of Controversy: Briefly describe the nature of the scientific, medical, or technological controversy, including a summary of the two opposing beliefs, the main points of each, your initial opinion, and ethical considerations.
o Goal(s)/Hypothesis of the Controversy Study: Create a goal(s)/hypothesis for the Controversy Study. Consider the following questions:
